Biography
Juergen Brauer was born in 1938 and trained as a cameraman at the "Konrad Wolf" Academy ofFilm & Television (HFF/B) in Babelsberg from 1958-1962. He made several short films from in the 1960s, followed by work as a cameraman at the DEFA studios until 1980 on such films as "Die Legende von Paul und Paula" and "Die Verlobte". In 1980, directed his first feature film "Pugowitza" and followed this with films like "Das Herz des Piraten", "Sehnsucht", "Gritta von Rattenzuhausbeiuns" and "Anna-Anna". In 1996, he completed work on "Laurence in the Land of Liars" ("Lorenz im Land der Luegner") and the three-part TV series "Tanz auf dem Vulkan". He has been working exclusively for television since.
