Biography

Sarah Palarczyk, born in Eberbach in 1994, gained her first acting experiences as a teenager: In 2009/10, she played the title role in "Alice in Wonderland" at Theater am Puls in Schwetzingen; in 2014/15, she appeared there in "The Merchant of Venice" in the key role of the merchant's daughter Jessica. Her Schwetzingen colleague Beate Krist cast her in the lead role of "Auf Kafkas Spuren" at her Theater 3D in Wiesbaden in 2015. Benjamin Martins, whom she had also met at Theater am Puls, gave her a smaller supporting role in his feature film "Danke tote Katze" ("Thanks Dead Cat") in 2015, which was completed in 2017.

In parallel, Palarczyk initially studied philosophy and musicology in Heidelberg before beginning acting studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Ludwigsburg in 2016. During her studies, she appeared in Academy productions as well as several short films. Sarah Palarczyk also played her first leading role on the big screen while still a student: In "Schattenstunde" ("The Shadow Hour") she portrayed the daughter of the Christian theologian and poet Jochen Klepper and his Jewish wife, who were driven to suicide with their daughter in Nazi Germany. The production was again directed by Benjamin Martins, and the parents were played by Beate Krist and Christoph Kaiser (also a colleague from Theater am Puls). "Schattenstunde" was filmed in 2019 and premiered at the Munich Film Festival in the summer of 2021. It won Best Feature-Length Film at the First Steps Awards. The theatrical release was in January 2022.

Before that, in 2020, Sarah Palarczyk had graduated from Ludwigsburg. From 2020 to 2022, she made a guest appearance at the Heilbronn Theater.
