Biography

Luise Camilla Aschenbrenner was born on April 8, 1995, in Munich and grew up in Altomünster. She gained her first stage experience in 2013 with the youth club of the Münchner Kammerspiele theater. That same year, she made her feature film debut as the daughter of Claudia Michelsen's character in the TV comedy "Seitensprung."

From 2014 to 2017, Aschenbrenner studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). During her studies, she performed in a staged reading of "Der (vor)letzte Panda oder Die Statik" at the Stückemarkt of the Berlin Theatertreffen in 2016. In 2017, she appeared in "Brave New York" at the Box venue of the Deutsches Theater Berlin. On television, she portrayed the daughter of Peter Lohmeyer's lead detective in the thriller "Brandmal" (2015) and starred alongside Anja Schneider in the award-winning mother-daughter drama "Brut" ("Brood", 2017).

After graduating from UdK, Aschenbrenner held a permanent engagement at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden theater from 2017 to 2021. Her portrayal of Luise in Schiller’s "Intrigue and Love" earned her an invitation to the 20th International Schiller Days in Mannheim in 2019.

On television, she appeared in a supporting role in Dominik Graf's "Hanne" (2018) and featured in multiple "Tatort" episodes, including a leading role as a harassed paramedic in the Dresden episode "Rettung so nah" (2021). On the big screen, she had a minor role in Graf's "Fabian oder Der Gang vor die Hunde" ("Fabian: Going to the Dogs", 2021) and played the title role in "Luise" (DE/FR 2022), a wartime love triangle set during World War I.

In 2024, Aschenbrenner took on a leading role in the six-part series "Disko 76," portraying a disco-loving teenager in 1970s Bochum. She also appeared in a smaller role as a caregiver in the film "Die Herrlichkeit des Lebens" ("The Glory of Life", DE/AT 2024), which tells the story of Franz Kafka's (Sabin Tambrea) love affair with caregiver Dora Diamant (Henriette Confurius).

Most recently, she starred alongside Maja Bons as a Munich art academy student in the coming-of-age drama "Die Akademie" ("The Academy", 2024). The film premiered at the Munich Film Festival in 2024 and was released in cinemas in March 2025.
