Biography

Maja Bons, born in 2003 in Berlin, landed her first small role in a short film in 2022, before receiving a lead role later that year in the eight-episode coming-of-age series "Everyone is F*cking Crazy"*, which earned her a nomination for the New Faces Award.

In 2023, Bons took on her first lead role in a feature film, portraying an art student in the coming-of-age drama "Die Akademie" ("The Academy"). Before the film premiered at the 2024 Munich Film Festival, she appeared in an episode of the crime series "Letzte Spur Berlin". In 2024, she also played a significant role as the daughter of a mentally unstable psychologist (Matthias Brandt) in the Frankfurt "Tatort" episode "Es grünt so grün, wenn Frankfurts Berge blüh’n".

In January 2025, Bons was awarded the Best Newcomer Acting prize at the Bayerischer Filmpreis for her performance in "Die Akademie". The film was released in cinemas in March 2025. Almost simultaneously, Bons appeared as the daughter of the main character (played by Jördis Triebel) in the six-part series "Marzahn Mon Amour" (2025), based on the autobiographically inspired novel by Katja Oskamp.
