Biography
Peter Fratzscher was born in Kassel on 1 July 1950 and began studying German and Philosophy in Frankfurt in 1970. He then attended the Academy for Television & Film (HFF) in Munich from 1970-1974 and served as an assistant lecturer in the Film & TV Drama department from 1975-1976. In addition to directing on series like "Der Fahnder", "Auf Achse" and "Tatort", Fratzscher also worked on Reinhard Hauff"s "Knife In Head" ("Messer im Kopf", 1978), Hajo Gies" TV film "Die schwuelen Tage" and Dominik Graf"s "Das zweite Gesicht" (1982). His own films for the cinema are "Vergiss es, Asphaltnacht" (1980), "Panische Zeiten" (co-dir. with Udo Lindenberg, 1980), "André schafft sie alle" (1984) and "Nachts" (1997). He has been working for television since, mostly for the German series "Tatort".
