Maximilian Romedio Johann-Ernst Graf von Thun und Hohenstein was born in Munich on February 21 in 1977. Without having formal training, the son of actor Friedrich von Thun, began his stage career in the mid-1990s in England. In 1997, he made his TV debut in Xaver Schwarzenberger's drama "Lamorte", which also featured his father. Following a supporting role in Sigi Rothemund's "Unsere Kinder – Verschollen im Urlaub" (1998, TV), he was cast by MTV as the host of the show "Kitchen TV". Between 2000 and 2003, he appeared in 22 episodes of the TV series "Bei aller Liebe".

In 2000, Max von Thun had his first screen role in Simon Verhoeven"s "100 Pro". This was followed by parts in Angelo Colagrossi's "Alles wegen Paul" (2001) and "Samba in Mettmann" (2004), as well as Peter Gersina's "Mädchen, Mädchen 2 – Loft oder Liebe" (2004)

He continued to work in television, and had starring roles in the lavish miniseries "Kronprinz Rudolfs letzte Liebe" (2006), in the WWII drama "Die letzte Flucht" (2007), in the thriller "Das Pabst-Attentat" (2007), the biopic "Remarque – Sein Weg zum Ruhm" (2008) and the crime caper "Böses Erwachen". In 2009, Max von Thun played the lead in the feature film "Pizza und Marmelade", followed by another major role in Hans W. Geißendörfer's drama "In der Welt habt ihr Angst".

Prolific roles in Detlev Buck's "RubbeldieKatz" ("Woman in Love", 2012), Marcus H. Rosenmüller's "Sommer der Gaukler" (2012), the TV biopic "Ein weites Herz – Schicksalsjahre einer deutschen Familie" (2013, TV) and the comedy "Einmal Hans mit scharfer Soße" (2013) followed.

He went on to star in the acclaimed TV productions "Die Fremde und das Dorf" (AT 2014) and "Sternstunde ihres Lebens" (2014). He then again proved his comic talents in the comedies "Traumfrauen" (2015), "Mutter auf Streife" (2015, TV) and the satire Satire "Die Udo Honig Story" (2015, TV). Early 2016 saw the release of the romantic comedy "Gut zu Vögeln", in which Max von Thun stars as a vain bartender and womanizer who shares a flat with a heartbroken female reporter.

Alongside his acting career, Max von Thun is also singer and songwriter of the band "Von Thun & 77", which released its first album in 2007.
