Biography

Tony Loeser, born September 14, 1953, in Liverpool, England, initially trained to become a photographer but soon turned to the film business where he specialized on animation, optics, and special effects. In these departments, he was mainly involved in children's film productions like Konrad Petzold's film "Die Geschichte von der Gänseprinzessin und ihrem Pferd Falada" (1988) and Günter Meyer's "Olle Hexe" (1990), or in fantasy drama films like "Novalis – Die blaue Blume" (1993).

In 1998, Loeser set up the production company MotionWorks GmbH in Halle that realized animated cartoon films for children like "Globi und der Schattenräuber" ("Globi and the Stolen Shadows", 2001 to 2003) for TV or for the movie screen. Besides, Loeser was also involved as a co-producer in the making of successful films like "Lauras Stern" ("Laura's Star"). Furthermore, MotionWorks maintains a branch for trailer films, commercials, and post production in Leipzig.

In 2009, Tony Loeser made his debut as a director for the movie screen with the animation film "Mullewapp – Das große Kinoabenteuer der Freunde" ("Friends Forever"), based on Helme Heine's children's book.

Loeser next focused on his work as producer, and his credits include the animated children programs "Ringelgasse 19" (2011), "Raketenflieger Timmi" (2014), "Kallis Gute Nacht Geschichten" (2014) and "Fußball Helden Comic" (2015-2016). In addition to this, he served as director on the animated series "Die Abenteuer des jungen Marco Polo" (2013).

In 2014, Loeser began production on the animated feature "Mullewapp - Eine schöne Schweinerei" ("Mullewapp - A Pig's Tail"), which he co-directed with Theresa Strozyk. The film was released in summer 2016.
