Biography

The German-Gambian actress and singer Sira-Anna Faal was born in 2000. She made her acting debut in 2020 in the fifth season of the youth web and television series "Druck," playing a stressed high school student who became the main character in the sixth season. For this role, which she portrayed until 2022, Faal and her castmates won the Ensemble Award at the 2021 German Acting Awards.  

In 2021, Faal took on a prominent role in the fantasy film "The Ordinaries" as the privileged friend of the main character. This award-winning film premiered in cinemas in March 2023. Before that, she appeared in six episodes of the series "Becoming Charlie" (2022). She followed with guest appearances in the comedy series "Like a Loser" (2023) and the crime series "SOKO Leipzig" (2023), as well as a significant role in the coming-of-age film "Jonja" (2023, TV).  

In addition to her acting career, Sira-Anna Faal has been active as a musician, singer, and rapper since 2020. She released her first single, "Koma," in 2021, followed by her debut EP "Noema" in 2022 and her second EP "HyperAktiv" in 2023. In January 2024, she collaborated with rappers Xaver and Gustav from the crew "01099" on the single "Phase."  

In May 2024, Disney+ premiered the six-part miniseries "Pauline," with Sira-Anna Faal in the title role as a 19-year-old who, after a one-night stand with the devil's son, becomes pregnant and must ultimately prevent the apocalypse. This role earned Faal nominations for the German Television Award and the Bavarian Television Award. Additionally, in 2024, she appeared in two film productions: a supporting role in the German-American cult thriller "Berlin Nobody" and a lead role in the queer coming-of-age story "Die feige Schönheit" ("About Them").
