Saralisa Volm, born on June 24, 1985 in Hechingen, gained her first acting experience during her high school years as a member of the school theater group. In 2006, she was cast in the TV film "Finale" by Klaus Lemke, who almost always works with amateur actors. Shot during the 2006 World Cup, the low-budget film tells a love story between an aspiring actress and a young prostitute.
She then landed a leading role in Lemke's genre film "Dancing with Devils" (2008), about a young woman who tries to make a fresh start in Hamburg after her release from prison. Volm was also part of the ensemble of Lemke's "Schmutziger Süden" (2010), about a womanizer in Munich, and "Berlin für Helden" (2012), about a series of young bon vivants seeking fast luck in Berlin.
In addition, Saralisa Volm has appeared in several short films, the episode "Bis(s) in alle Ewigkeit" (2011) from the series "SOKO 5113" and in the lead role in the medium-length feature film "Hotel Desire" (2011), which also starred Jan Gregor Kremp, Herbert Knaup and Clemens Schick.
In 2014, Volm and three other woman founded the blog glowbus.de, which specifically addressed women with a wide variety of topics; in the same year, her book "Mamabeat" was published, in which she reported on being a parent in a sometimes cheerful tone. In 2016, Volm left the glowbus.de team.
Volm founded the production company Poison in 2014, with which she launched, among others, Jan Henrik Stahlberg's black comedy "Fikkefuchs" ("Bedbugs", 2015-2017), in which she also took on a supporting role.
She was part of the ensemble of the TV movie "Shakespeares letzte Runde" (2016) and appeared in a leading role in the "Mordkommission Istanbul" episode "Ein Dorf unter Verdacht" (2017).
In spring 2018, Saralisa Volm co-curated the group exhibition "bitch MATERial" with Britta Helbig at Kunstquartier Bethanien Berlin. At the same time, her second book "Puff! Splash! Bang! Mit 52 Experimenten durch das Jahr" was published. She wrote journalistic texts and columns for the newspapers Süddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit, among others.
In 2021, Volm directed her first feature film, "Schweigend steht der Wald" ("Silent Forest") based on the novel of the same name by Wolfram Fleischhauer. It premiered at the 2022 Berlinale in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section. In Rolf Peter Kahl's "Als Susan Sontag im Publikum saß", which was released in May 2022, she played the author Germaine Greer.
