Sabine Marina was born in Detmold. Following her training as an event technician in Hamburg, she studied media production in Lemgo. In August 2011, while still at university, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. After the initial shock, she decided to address her fears in a film, which eventually became her bachelor thesis: In the documentary "Kleine graue Wolke" (2014), she presents her own situation while also portraying other MS patients and their positive attitude towards life and their illness. For the film, Sabine Marina founded the production company Frog Motion Filmproduktion with the intent of making future films dealing with MS.
