Biography
Ralf Schmerberg was born 1965 in Stuttgart. He started working as a photographer and, since 1989, has received numerous awards for his photographic work, including distinctions from the ADC Germany as well as a Kodak Prize, and has numerous exhibitions in Berlin, Hamburg, New York and others cities. He made his feature directorial debut in 1995 with the poetic documentary "Hommage à Noir" which was presented with a Certificate of Merit in 1996 in Chicago and two Gold Medals at the New York Film Festival in 1997 and was nominated for the UNESCO Award. His other works include video clips and various high profile advertisements for international companies, and the feature film "Poem – I Set My Foot Upon the Air and It Carried Me" ("Poem – Ich setzte den Fuss in die Luft, und sie trug", 2002).
