Biography

Niklas Doddo was born in 1995 in Friedberg, Bavaria, and grew up in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2015, he began studying at the Filmschauspielschule Berlin. Over the next two years, he appeared on stage in several productions at Berlin's BlackBoxx Theater. In 2017, he was awarded the Seal of Excellence by the Association of German-Speaking Private Acting Schools (VdpS). The following year, while still a student, he joined the ensemble of the Theater der Jugend in Vienna, where he appeared in the stage productions "Das kleine Meermädchen" (2018) and "Little Lord Fauntleroy" (2018-19).

In 2019, Doddo graduated from the Filmschauspielschule Berlin. In the same year, he received a nomination for the Nestroy Award in the category of Best Newcomer Male for his portrayal of Phil in "Die Mitte der Welt" (2019), again at the Theater der Jugend. From 2019 to 2021, he played the knight Länglich von Länglich in "Der kleine dicke Ritter" in Vienna.

Having already appeared sporadically in short films, Doddo landed his first feature film role in 2018 while still a student: in "Arboretum," the feature-length debut of director Julian Richberg, he played a teenage outsider. The film, a mix of coming-of-age drama and mystery thriller, premiered in 2020 at the Terror Molins festival in Molins, near Barcelona. It opened regularly in theaters in February 2023.
