Nadine Heinze and Marc Dietschreit, both self-taught cinematographers, have been working together since 2005 as scriptwriters and directors in Duisburg. After various experimental films, they directed the short film "46/47", produced with their own company B8 production. "46/47" won prizes at several festivals; "Das fehlende Grau" celebrated its premiere at the Hofer Filmtage 2014 and was released in cinemas in summer 2015.
It took three years for Heinze and Dietschreit to start shooting their next film: "Die Vergesslichkeit der Eichhörnchen" tells the story of a nurse from the Ukraine who cares for a dementia patient in Germany, who thinks she is his deceased wife. Due to the Corona pandemic, the film did not open in cinemas until summer 2021.
