Marc Dietschreit, born 1975 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, completed a vocational training as a nurse and studied medicine for several semesters at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Since 2005 he works as a freelance writer and director.
Marc Dietschreit and Nadine Heinze, both self-taught cinematographers, have been working together since 2005 as scriptwriters and directors in Duisburg. After various experimental films, the short film "46/47" was realized in 2012 with their company B8 Production. "46/47" was shown at numerous festivals and won several awards. With "Das fehlende Grau", their feature debut, the duo was invited to the Hofer Filmtage 2014, in the summer of 2015 the film was released in cinemas.
Three years later, in spring 2018, Dietschreit and Heinze began shooting their next feature film: "Die Vergesslichkeit der Eichhörnchen" deals with the special relationship between a Ukrainian nurse and her German dementia patient, who thinks she is his deceased wife. Due to the Corona pandemic, the film did not open in cinemas until summer 2021.
