In addition, she had guest roles in series and played the young Marie von Suttner, writer and niece of Nobel Peace Prize winner Bertha von Suttner, in the TV movie "Eine Liebe für den Frieden" (2014).

Maresi Riegner had her first leading role in the drama "Uns geht es gut" ("We Are Fine", 2015), which was released in German cinemas in early 2016. In it, she was the only woman in a clique of young men roaming through a summery hot big city until conflicts arise between them. Riegner played another leading cinema role in the film biography "Egon Schiele" (AT/LU 2016), as the wife of the famous painter.

She was nominated for the 2017 Austrian Film Award for this performance. The following year she won the award, for her supporting role as the maid and friend of the blind Viennese pianist Maria Theresia Paradis in the film biography "Licht" (AT/DE 2017).

Riegner also remained successful on stage: her portrayal of Helen Keller in "The Miracle Worker" at Vienna's Theater der Jugend and Hedvig in "Die Wildente" at the Theater in der Josefstadt earned her the Nestroy Theater Prize in the Best Newcomer category in 2017. In 2018, she received the Outstanding Artist Award for Performing Arts offered by the Austrian Ministry of Culture. She made further stage appearances at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt (2017), the Salzburg Festival (2017/19) and the Burgtheater in Vienna (2019).

Riegner played an important cinema role in the comedy "Irgendwann ist auch mal gut" (2019): for her portrayal of a fun-loving trainee of a conservative funeral director (Fabian Hinrichs) she won the award for Best Young Actress at the 2020 Max Ophüls Prize film festival. After TV roles in "Letzter Kirtag" (AT 2020) and the "Landkrimi" episode "Das Mädchen aus dem Bergsee" (AT 2020), Riegner was seen in 2021 in the lead role of the feature film "Monte Verità - Der Rausch der Freiheit" (CH/AT/DE), about the legendary Monte Verità sanatorium in Switzerland.
