Biography
Lisa Ohlin was born in New York in 1960. The daughter of Swedish-American parents studied social anthropology and art in Washington and pursued a career in fine arts for several years. Eventually, she fell in love with filmmaking and enrolled at the New York University film class.
After successfully directing the Swedish productions "Tillfällig fru sökes" ("Seeking temporary Wife", 2003) and "Sex hopp och kärlek" ("Sex, hope and love", 2005), as well as an acclaimed TV miniseries, she was appointed Commissioner for Feature Films by the Swedish Film Institute in 2007. She resigned in 2009, in order to return to directing: Her youth drama "Simon", which is set in Sweden during the 1940s and 1950s, premiered in Sweden in late 2011, and got a release in Germany in Summer 2012.
