Lia von Blarer was born on December 2, 1992, in Liestal, Switzerland and grew up in the Basel region. As a teenager, she moved with her family to Berlin, where she graduated from high school in 2012. In 2014 she began her acting studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock. During her studies, she performed in various theater productions, and in 2016 and 2017 she received the Migros-Kulturprozent study and support award. She finished her studies in 2018.
Since 2015, Lia von Blarer has appeared in short films and series: In 2019 and 2020 she appeared in more than 30 episodes of the web series "Die Einstein WG". In 2020, she had a leading role in the highly acclaimed series "MaPa", which follows a young father (Max Mauff) who must take care of his one-year-old daughter alone after the death of his partner (Blarer). In Julia von Heinz's six-part historical series "Eldorado KaDeWe" (2021), she was part of the main ensemble, playing the (fictional) daughter of the founder of KaDeWe, who discovers her homosexuality in 1920s Berlin. Her first leading role in a feature film was in the award-winning film "Youth Topia", where she portrayed a rebellious young woman who suddenly gets a privileged job and risks losing touch with her former life.
