Leighanne Esperanzate was born in 2005 in Essex, England, to Filipino immigrants. She made her debut in front of the camera in 2013 in the British short film "Balsa Wood". Two years later she appeared in the theatre play "Annie Junior". She made her debut on the big screen in 2018 as Princess Li Si in the German children's film "Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer" ("Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver"), based on the novel by Michael Ende. Afterwards she appeared in the short film "Dogeater" (GB 2019), before she reprised the role of Princess Li Si in "Jim Knopf und die Wilde 13" ("Jim Button and the Wild 13", 2020).
