Biography

Dagmar Seume was born in Lehnin (then part of the German Democratic Republic) on January 8 1964. After receiving a degree in physical education, she worked as a gymnastics coach. From 1991 on, she was a project and event manager, and in 1994 she began working as a line producer in television. Between 1996 and 2006, she gathered experience as an assistant director on several TV and film productions, including Torsten C. Fischer's award-winning screen adaptation of the novel "Der Liebeswunsch" (DE/AT 2006).

Seume made her debut as director with the short "Remember" (2004), which became part of the compilation film "Die Ausreisser", released in 2006. During the following years, she directed several TV productions, among them a feature on Rolf Losansky ("Verdammt ich bin erwachsen", 2008), episodes of the soap operas "Eine wie keine" and "Hand aufs Herz", as well as of the acclaimed TV series "Danni Lowinski". Dagmar Seume directed her first feature-length cinema release with the sequel "Hanni & Nanni 3", which opened in 2013.
