Film synopsis: The documentary film depicts the life of the couple Boris and Katarina. After the cellist, Boris, suffers a severe stroke, the filmmaker Katarina records with her DV-camera their shared attempts at coming to terms with this new and exceedingly difficult situation. For it turns out that the stroke has not only attacked Boris’ brain, but has also lead to a subsequent situation where things which were once held as secure in personal and social life have also become damaged.

"Am seidenen Faden" was digitized by Friederike Anders Filmproduktion (former Katarina Peters Filmproduktion) as part of the film heritage funding program "Förderprogramm Filmerbe" (FFE) in 2021.

filmportal.de, the central internet platform for German cinema and a department of DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut und Filmmuseum, documents the progress and results of "Förderprogramm Filmerbe", which is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the German federal states and the German Federal Film Board. The first five minutes of feature-length films digitized with funding from the FFE are presented on filmportal.de to document the successful completion of the respective project.

Das Förderprogramm Filmerbe (FFE) von BKM, den Ländern und FFA stellt seit dem 1. Januar 2019 für den Zeitraum von zehn Jahren jährlich bis zu 10 Millionen Euro für die Digitalisierung von Kinofilmen zur Verfügung.
