Summary

After the grandmother of documentary filmmaker Arnon Goldfinger passed away at the age of 98, her relatives discover traces of an hitherto unknown aspect of her life in her belongings: Though they were Jews themselves, Gerda and her husband Kurt were close friends with the family of SS officer Barin Leopold von Mildenstein. Together with his mother, Arnon Goldfinger starts researching this unique story – even if it means unearthing things and questions which other members of their family would rather have liked to be left in the dark.
