Serafin Mishiev, born in 2006 in Berlin, began acting at a young age. In 2015, he joined the Young Ensemble at Berlin’s Friedrichstadt-Palast and was also part of the children’s dance company Sasha Waltz & Guests until 2018. He first gained critical attention in 2017 for his performance in Robert Wilson’s text-music collage "Luther Dancing with the Gods", a staged production at the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin.
Mishiev made his film debut in 2018 with a small role in Philipp Kadelbach’s tragicomedy "So viel Zeit" ("Comeback"). A year later, he played a pivotal role in Ina Weisse’s award-winning drama "Das Vorspiel" ("The Audition", 2019), portraying the neglected son of Nina Hoss' protagonist. That same year, he attended an acting workshop for young performers led by Nicole Marischka and Thomas Bartholomäus.
As a voice actor, he lent his voice to the young protagonists in the feature films "Die Adern der Welt" ("Veins of the World") and "Jim Knopf und die Wilde 13" ("Jim Button and the Wild 13", both 2020). In 2022/23, he trained in the Alexander Technique for actors under Annedore Kleist.
In Axel Ranisch’s six-part coming-of-age series "Nackt über Berlin" ("Berlin Bad Trip", 2023), Mishiev had a supporting role as the son of a school principal kidnapped by two students. His second leading role in cinema, following "Das Vorspiel", came in Frauke Lodders’ drama "Gotteskinder" ("In Good Faith", 2023), where he starred alongside Flora Li Thiemann as the son of a strict Evangelical family, struggling with his homosexuality. The film won the Youth Jury Prize at the Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival in 2024 and was released in German cinemas in January 2025.
