Summary
The everyday life of an average family: Mr. Raab (Kurt Raab) is a technical draftsman, his wife (Lilith Ungerer) is looking after the only child at home, a boy (Amadeus Fengler). The couple spends the evening watching television, the weekend with walks or chatting with Kurt's parents (Mr. and Mrs. Sterr). But life has its little flaws: Mr. R.'s hoped-for improvement in his job is not forthcoming, his son has difficulties at school, the doctor finds (albeit insignificant) health problems, and in general, Mr. Raab, who suffers from headaches, often seems a bit absent-minded. Only when a school friend (Peer Raben) comes to visit, he comes to life: Together they sing hymns with which they were maltreated as children. In the end, Raab kills his wife, a neighbor (Irm Hermann), who is visiting, and his son with a heavy candlestick. The next morning he hangs himself in the toilet of the company.
