Summary
Tabu: The Soul Is a Stranger on Earth
Austria, the year 1908. Expressionist poet Georg Trakl comes to Vienna in order to study pharmaceutics. His impulsive sister Grete successfully struggles to get the permission to follow her brother and to attend university as well – at that time, a sensation. Yet her studies at the music academy don't really interest her as much as her brother. Defying all moral concerns, she expresses her love and as a muse, she inspires some of Georg's most famous poems. But for Grete, this is not enough: She wants to live with her brother as a couple, preferably in another city. The relationship and his sister's possessive behaviour start to affect Georg, who increasingly uses drugs to subdue his feeling of guilt.
