Summary
Documentary on the South African settlement Orania, where Apartheid de facto continues: Located in the Karoo desert region, 800 white Afrikaans (also called Boers) have made Orania their home. Since they live on private property, they can exclude people of other ethnicity from working or living there – which they do rigidly. Wanting to justify their isolation from South Africa's multi-ethnic society, they name a raising crime rate, unemployment and increasing social pressure. Many say that they want to keep traditions alive in order to pass them on to their children. Some moved to Orania out of fear, some out of mere desperation. But almost unanimously they argue that the end of Apartheid is the source of South Africa's problems.
