Summary
Havana: The New Art of Making Ruins
Once, Havana was called the "Caribbean pearl". But nowadays, the Cuban capital is characterized by ruins and deadbeat buildings – that may appear poetically picturesque to tourists but its inhabitants have to fear their collapse and live in an constant jeopardy of their life. The documentary film captures the atmosphere of the completely deadbeat city and portrays five extremely different people – a worker, a homeless person, the wife of a former millionaire, an expropriated land owner, and a writer – who try to cope with their literally ruined neighbourhoods.
