Taxi driver Hartmut Mackowiak is taken completely by surprise when all of a sudden his wife leaves him after 30 years of marriage. Now, the malcontent who used to hide behind prejudice and scepticism has to alter and reorganize his life overnight.
On top of all that, six-year old Turkish girl Hayat appears in his cab all by herself. She doesn′t speak German at all, neither does she know where to go to. But it′s certain that she urgently needs help Hartmut, who actually wanted to win his wife back, reluctantly takes care of the sprightly girl. And gradually, the cantankerous cabbie warms up to his kid passenger…
