Summary
The Lady With The Arrows
Documentary about the artist, activist and humanist Claudia Andujar (*1931), who became internationally known primarily for her photographic work. Born in Switzerland and raised in Transylvania and Hungary, she survived the Holocaust by fleeing back to Switzerland. Brazil became her home in the 1950s. This is where Heidi Specogna's documentary begins: it is about her travels in the Amazon region, where she developed a close relationship with the indigenous Yanomami people. Over the decades, this has led to some of Andujar's most famous photo series, which have a political dimension as well as cultural significance: Andujar is not only one of the most important representatives of photography in South America, but has also used her artistic work for decades to campaign for the rights of indigenous communities.
