Jessica Krummacher
Jessica Krummacher enrolled in Bochum as a student of political sciences. Yet she later transferred to Karlsruhe to study media arts, and then to the HFF Munich film school, where she majored in documentary filmmaking and TV journalism. In 2006, she co-founded the production company kLAPPbOXfILME with Timo Müller. After working as producer on Müller's award-winning debut "Morscholz", she completed "Totem", her first feature film as director, in 2011. "Totem" premiered at the 2011 Venice IFF and was released in Germany in April 2012. It was nominated for Best Feature Film Debut at the 2012 German Film Critics' Award.
In the following years, Krummacher wrote screenplays, worked on art installations and produced experimental films by her partner Timo Müller.
In September 2020, she began shooting her feature film "Zum Tod meiner Mutter" ("The Death of My Mother"), which tells of a woman's farewell to her dying mother. The film premiered at the Berlinale 2022 in the Encounters section.
