Biography

Patrick Mölleken, born on 27 September 1993 in Haan, took piano lessons at a very early age and perfomed on stage already as a five year old. From 2003 on, he worked as a voice actor for various animated films and series, for example lending his voice to the monkey Pong in the successful series "Kleiner Dodo" (2007).

While still at high school, Mölleken attended the acting school Juniorhouse in Cologne from 2006 to 2010; at the same time he took acting lessons with Uwe Friedrichsen (2007-2009) and completed several workshops and courses in acting, voice acting and directing. During these years he remained active as a narrator and actor. In 2010 he was awarded the German Audio Book Prize for "Wie man unsterblich wird - Jede Minute zählt". In the same year he played the leading role of Tom in the Mystery-3D series "Grimmsberg".

As an actor, Mölleken guest starred in numerous series and television plays, such as in "Der Bergdoktor - Durch eisige Höhen" (2010), the war drama "Rommel" (2012, as Erwin Rommel's son), the daily soap "Sturm der Liebe" ("Storm of Love", 2013) and the comedy "16 über Nacht" (2014). Also in 2014, he played the rebellious son of the title character in the sitcom "Die Kuhflüsterin" and a likable shy provincial entrepreneur in the crook comedy "Weihnachten für Einsteiger".

On the big screen, Mölleken appeared in the title role of the mystery drama "Tom's Video", which premiered in 2012 at the Max Ophüls Preis film festival. In the compilation film "Wir" (2013) he played a bullied student in the episode "KILIAN.". After a smaller part in the children's film "Gespensterjäger" ("Ghosthunters", 2015), he played a central role as an scheming villain in the children's fantasy film "König Laurin" ("King Laurin", 2016).

Mölleken's main field of activity, however, remained television - in addition to his numerous radio plays and audio book works. He had a leading role in Stephan Wagner's "Tatort" episode "Hundstage" (2016) and belonged to the large ensemble of Urs Egger's "Ein Kind wird gesucht" (2017), which is based on actual events. Series appearances included "Das Traumschiff: Kuba" (2016), "Der Alte" (2017) and "Notruf Hafenkante" (2018). In 2017 and 2018 he played a leading role in the television series "Frühling" as the paraplegic son of a village café operator. As a producer, Mölleken was involved in two short films by Adi Wojaczek: "Luca" (2017) and "Es wird besser" ("It Gets Better", 2018), an award-winning anti-cyberbullying drama starring Ursula Strauss.

Together with rapper Eko Fresh, Mölleken could be seen in 2018 in the video for the anti-racism production "Aber", which won a special prize for social responsibility awarded by the European Web Video Academy. Mölleken played a leading role in Florian Frerichs' "Das letzte Mahl" ("The Last Supper") as a German Jew in 1933, who to the horror of his family is enthusiastic about the Nazi movement. The film premiered in 2018 at the Jewish Film Festival in Los Angeles and was released in January 2019.
