Rainer Knepperges was born in 1965 in Korschenbroich (North Rhine-Westphalia) and lives in Cologne. He is one of the founding members of Filmclub 813 and a member of "Kölner Gruppe" where he participated as a director, author or actor in 15 mostly short films since 1987. Furthermore, Knepperges is the editor of the Cologne magazine "Gdinetmao" that is published in irregular intervals since 1987 and of the book of the same name that was published in 2000 by Maas Media Verlag. In 2000, he and Christian Mrasek made the short film "Tour Eifel". "Die Quereinsteigerinnen" (2005) is his first full-length film as a director, actor, author and producer.
