Sparta
Ewald, an engineer in his mid-forties, has been living with his partner in the Romanian hinterland for several years. There he starts an unusual project: with the support of boys living there, he wants to convert a dilapidated school into a fortress. While the boys are enthusiastic about the unusual project and feel they are helping to create a significant work, distrust of Ewald is growing among the adults. In fact, Ewald finally has to face a truth about himself and his motives that he has long tried to suppress.
"Sparta" is the "brother piece" to Ulrich Seidl's film "Rimini", which focuses on Ewald's brother.
