The Glory of Life

Based on the novel of the same name by Michael Kumpfmüller. In the summer of 1923, the writer Franz Kafka, seriously ill with tuberculosis, travels to the Baltic Sea to recuperate. There, on the beach, he meets the 25-year-old governess Dora Diamant, who is accompanying a group of Jewish children on a vacation trip. Kafka would later write that the young woman "touched him in a disturbing way" - she became the late love of his life. The two moved to Berlin, where Kafka spent the last year of his life with Dora Diamant as his health rapidly deteriorated.
