Mittagsstunde

The film adaptation of Dörte Hansen's bestseller of the same name tells the story of Ingwer Feddersen. Ingwer is in his late forties, works as a lecturer in Kiel and returns to the place he grew up in to care for his parents. The North Frisian village of Brinkebüll today, however, has little to do with the place of his childhood. The remote village has long since been overtaken by industrial modernization. Ingwer would also have hoped for a different reunion with his parents, but they felt forgotten by him and behave in a dismissive manner towards him because of it. As he tries to reconnect with them and to understand where they are coming from, Ingwer feels more and more transported back to his childhood.
