Marie Tragousti
Marie Tragousti, born 1999 in Berlin, took acting lessons with Ines Bartholomäus in 2011 and appeared on stage at various Berlin youth theatres. She was in productions at Theater Strahl ("Theater für ein junges Publikum"), at the youth club of the Schaubühne, as well as at the P14 Jugendtheater of the Volksbühne. She made her screen debut in 2016 in the short film "Was wir wissen" ("What We Know") by Lotta Schwerk, which won the New Berlin Film Award as 'Most Daring Short Film' at the Achtung Berlin Festival. For her performance in the film, Tragousti won the prize for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Firenze FilmCorti Festival. In 2017 she completed an acting workshop 'Method Acting' with Cathy Haase at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb).
In 2019, director Melanie Waelde cast Tragousti in the main cast of her unconventional coming-of-age drama "Nackte Tiere" ("Naked Animals"). The film celebrated its world premiere in the 'Encounters' section at the Berlinale in February 2020 and was released in German cinemas the following autumn.
