Actress Tania moves to an isolated village in Northern Germany. Shortly after her arrival, she makes the acquaintance of teenager Thore, whose peculiar demeanour sets him apart from other boys of his age and immediately impresses Tania. The two develop a unique friendship, and while the 43-year-old woman and the 15-year-old student seem to be kindred souls, the people in the village become suspicious of their relationship. Eventually, Thore increasingly depends on the older woman's affection. But nobody suspects that Tania is actually seeing Thore as the chance to redeem herself of an old guilt.
