A Pure Place

As toddlers, the siblings Paul and Irina were kidnapped and taken to a Greek island, where they grew up in the secluded surroundings of a sect. Leader of the spiritual community is the equally charismatic and inscrutable Fust. Life in the sect is based on a strictly hierarchical system: there are the habitats "above" and "below", and all people are divided into "good and bad", "dirty and pure". If someone is brought up for "cleansing" to the "above", it is done externally by a special soap produced in the cellar, and internally by worshipping the enlightened Guru Fust. Paul and Irina, now 12 and 15 years old, have developed a particularly close relationship in this bizarre environment. However, when Irina moves up in hierarchy and is brought into the upper world of the sect by Fust, Paul loses his most important reference person. He begins to rebel against the strict rules.
