On 22nd of December, during the shooting of "Bunkerlow", director Martin Kirchberger and his team died in a tragic plane crash, which killed a total of 28 people. Friends and relatives of Kirchberger's and his team went on to finish the film. In 2017, director Thomas Frickel presented his documentary "Wunder der Wirklichkeit" ("Miracles of Reality") about Martin Kichberger and the disaster.
