Annika Meier, born in Berlin in 1981, studied acting at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre from 2002 to 2006. Subsequently, she joined the ensemble of the Luzerner Theater in Lucerne, Switzerland and two years later the theatre in Oberhausen, where she for the first time worked with director and fellow actor Herbert Fritsch in his award-winning production of Molière's "Tartuffe" (2008). Since 2010, Annika Meier has been working with the Theater Dortmund, the Thalia Theater in Hamburg as well as with the Berliner Volksbühne.

From 2013 to 2015, together with fellow actor Lars Löllmann, she produced the satirical YouTube talk show "Zeitstövchen", for which they impersonated famous historical figures, such as Gandhi or Napoleon. Meier gave her debut in a cinema film in 2017. For her role in "Magical Mystery" she was awarded with the prize for Best Newcomer at the Munich International Film Festival.
