Yun Huang was born on November 1, 1991, in the People's Republic of China and moved to Germany at the age of six. She grew up in Aachen, Stuttgart, and Berlin, but also spent time living in Japan, Switzerland, and Israel. After completing high school, she initially pursued an architecture degree but dropped out after a year. In 2012, she began studying Physical Theatre at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri in Switzerland and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2015.
Huang made her first on-screen appearance in 2018 in the "Tatort" episode "Wir kriegen euch alle", playing an au pair and secret love interest of a neglected teenager. The following year, she appeared in several episodes of the TV series "In aller Freundschaft" (2019). From 2020 to 2021, she played a significant role as a distant and ambitious student in the ARD telenovela "Rote Rosen".
In March 2022, Yun Huang secured a regular role in the crime series "Der Alte", portraying Julia Lulu Zhao, a researcher and IT expert. She remained part of the investigative team even with the main cast change from Jan-Gregor Kremp to Thomas Heinze in the 47th season. In August 2022, Huang appeared as a German Federal intelligence service agent in the award-winning Netflix thriller series "Kleo".
Yun Huang has also taken on other television roles, including a murder victim in the Berlin "Tatort" episode "Das perfekte Verbrechen" (2020), and roles in "Spreewaldkrimi" (2023), "SOKO Hamburg" (2023), "Bettys Diagnose" (2024), and "SOKO Köln" (2024). Following a small cinema appearance in the horror film "Schlaf" ("Sleep", 2020) alongside Sandra Hüller, Yun Huang became part of the core ensemble in Simon Verhoeven's social satire "Alter weißer Mann" (2024).
