Wolfram Huke was born in Mühlhausen (Thuringa) in 1981. At the age of 15, he had an internship at a newspaper and subsequently became a local news reporter. From 2002 on, he studied philosophy in Munich. He worked as a freelance journalist, before enrolling in the director's class at the Münchner Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film (HFF München) in 2006. During that time, he completed several documentary shorts, wrote magazine articles and directed TV features ("8mm Bayern", 2009). His HFF graduation project "Love Alien" (2012), which is a personal account of his own problems with relationships and sex, marked Huke's feature-length debut as a director.
