Biography
Trevor Peters, born 1943 in New Zealand, worked as a university lecturer after studying philosophy. In 1967, he became a director for the British TV channel BBC in London, and later also worked as an editor for the BBC. In 1973, Peters moved to Hamburg where he lived until 2001. Since then, Peters works as a freelance documentary filmmaker, is a member of several juries, and again works as a lecturer. In his documentary films, Peters mainly focuses on "East German" topics: In "Nach der Eiszeit", for instance, Peters portrayed lesbian women in Schwerin, whereas "Capitol" dealt with the movie theatre scene in the newly-formed German states.
