Biography
Stefan Landorf was born in Hamburg. He studied medicine, but after his graduation and getting his license as a doctor, he enrolled at the HFF Munich and studied documentary filmmaking. In 1995, while still at the academy, he began working as a freelance AVID editor. His directorial debut, the documentary short "jan T zen", won an emerging talent award; and his graduation project "Aufnahme" – depicting everyday life in a hospital – was nominated for a First Steps Award and went on to win several prizes.
In 2007, Stefan Landorf began working on his second feature documentary "Besprechung", which reflects on the ritualistic culture of conferences in the work sphere. The film premiered at the 2009 Filmwoche in Duisburg and was released in 2011.
