Sophia Münster was born on February 28 1998 in Berlin. She made her first acting experiences in school theatre and workshops, and in 2009, she and her twin sister Jana successfully auditioned for the title roles in "Hanni & Nanni", the screen adaptation of the popular teenager book series. Following the box-office success of the film, the sisters returned for the sequel, which was released in Germany in Spring 2012.
However, in this film, as in the third part (2013), the sisters swapped roles and Sophia no longer played Hanni, but Nanni.
For television, Sophie Münster played the main character Elly at a young age in Marcus O. Rosenmüller's two-part film "Die Holzbaronin" (2012). At the end of 2014, the twins released a song entitled “I love to dance” on YouTube, and Sophia Münster's debut novel "Im Schattenspiel des Mörders" was published the following year.
In the YouTube web series "Alles Liebe, Annette" ("All the best, Annette", 2016-2017), Münster had a leading role as the best friend of the title character. In 2019, she appeared in an episode of the popular TV series "Das Traumschiff" ("Japan") and, together with her sister, in the daily soap “Meine Klasse - Voll das Leben”, which was discontinued after 40 episodes.
In 2022, Münster was part of the main ensemble of the coming-of-age film “Brennesselbad”, which was shot during the Covid pandemic as a collaboration between three students at the Darmstadt Film Academy and premiered at the Lichter Filmfest in Frankfurt. Also during the pandemic, Münster was in front of the camera for the coming-of-age road movie “Morgen irgendwo am Meer”, which premiered at the Bremen Film Festival in April 2023.
