Simon Wisler, a Swiss national, grew up with three siblings on a farm in Willisau in the canton of Lucerne. He trained as a farmer and in 2006 took over a farm in Parpan, Switzerland, which he still runs today. He manages an agricultural area of over 50 hectares, ranging from 1500 to 2000 meters above sea level; the farm also includes a total of well over 100 animals. The family man is alpine master and president of the alpine cheese dairy Parpan.
As an actor, Simon Wisler was discovered by director Michael Koch at a rural swinging festival. However, partly due to the demands of his job as a mountain farmer, Wisler took over a year to think things over before agreeing to take on a leading role in the mountain farmer love story "Drei Winter" ("A Piece of Sky"). The film premiered in competition at the Berlinale 2022, where it got a Special Mention and was released in theaters in December 2022.
