Biography

Sammy Scheuritzel, born in Berlin in 1998, made his debut in front of the camera at the age of eight, with an appearance in the TV family drama "Schattenkinder" ("Schadow Kids", 2007), followed by a small part in the children's film "Das Morphus-Geheimnis" ("The Mystery of Morphus", 2008). Michael Herbig cast him in his box-office hit "Wickie und die starken Männer" ("Vicky the Viking", 2009) as the main character's son. In the children's film "Teufelskicker" ("Devil's Kickers ", 2010) he was part of the titular team of young footballers.   

Scheuritzel had an important role in the highly acclaimed TV movie "Die letzte Fahrt" (2012), as the unnerved son of a couple in crisis. He also played smaller supporting roles in the ensembles of Oskar Roehler's "Quellen des Lebens" ("Sources of Life", 2013) and Fatih Akin's "Tschick" ("Goodbye Berlin", 2016). He starred in the short films "Kai" (2016) and "Was ich dir noch sagen wollte" ("Things Left Unsaid", 2017), which were shown at several festivals. He also appeared in guest roles in the TV series "Morden im Norden" (2018), "Soko Köln" (2019) and the Netflix production "Dark" (2020). In autumn 2019 Scheuritzel began studying acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich.   

Sammy Scheuritzel played his first leading role in a feature film in the ensemble of the unconventional coming-of-age drama "Nackte Tiere" ("Naked Animals"), directed by Melanie Waelde. The film premiered at the Berlinale 2020 in the section 'Encounters' and was released in German cinemas in autumn 2020.
