Born in Bremen in 1966. Studied art at Bremen Art College, followed by a year at the Vienna Film Academy. During this time he made a number of experimental films. 1995-2002 studied directing at the Film and Television Academy "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam-Babelsberg. After short films and commercials, he directed a number of children"s television programmes. His feature film debut "Zwischen Tag und Nacht" was shown at a number of film festivals and was nominated for the Max Ophüls Prize.
