Biography

Minna Wündrich, born in 1983 in Bremen, studied acting at the University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig from 2003 to 2007. During her studies, she made her film debut with a small role in the East-West love story "Kleinruppin Forever" (2004). She also appeared multiple times on the stage of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, where she received a permanent engagement in 2006, while still a student.

In 2008, she moved on to the Schauspiel Stuttgart. During her time there, Wündrich was nominated as Emerging Actress of the Year by the theater magazine Theater heute in 2012, and as Actress of the Year in 2013. In the same year, she moved to the Schauspielhaus Bochum and from there to the ensemble of the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus in 2016. There, she was seen as Portia in Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice" and in the title role of "Minna von Barnhelm". In addition, Wündrich developed her own performances and collaborated with visual artists. For example, in the 2019/20 season, she curated the series "performing/arts", where she explored forms of collaboration between performing and visual arts with various Düsseldorf artists.

Since 2019, Minna Wündrich has also taken on roles in cinema and television productions. She had a small role in Sönke Wortmann's "Contra" (2020), played a lawyer in the episode "Subotnik" from the series "Strafe - Ferdinand von Schirach" (2021, TV), portrayed a notary in "Ein Sommer auf Langeoog" (2022, TV), and was part of the ensemble of Jan Bonny's six-part satire series "Freiheit ist das Einzigste, was zählt" (2023).

Minna Wündrich's first leading role in a feature film was in the title role of the friendship and euthanasia drama "Ivo" (2024), which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2024 in the Encounters section. Nevertheless, Wündrich's primary focus remained on theater. At the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus, she was seen in the 2023/24 season in the play "Keine Sorge (Religion)".
