Marko Doringer was born July 13, 1974, in Salzburg where he set up his film production company "Filmfabrik" in 1999. His first film, the one-hour documentary film "Voices Of(f) – Beirut" (2002), tells the story of post-war life in the Lebanon on the basis of five different individual fates. His second feature-length film "In Tirana und Anderswo" ("In Tirana And Elsewhere", 2004), he portrays three young people who become witnesses of a radical new beginning after the overthrow of the Communist regime in Albania.
In 2008/2009, Doringer drew a lot of attention with his documentary film "Mein halbes Leben" ("(Half) The Time of My Life") that is at the same time a personal evaluation of his life and an attempt to capture his generation"s attitude towards life. The film won the Documentary Film Award at the 2008 Film Festival Diagonale Graz.
