Biography
Maria Teresa Camoglio, born 1961 in Sassari on Sardinia, Italy, started to study photography and graphic design at Instituto Statale d"Arte in Sassari after finishing school. After her graduation, Camoglio at first worked as a lecturer for photography at several colleges on Sardinia, before she went to Berlin to study at Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie (dffb). In 1993, she made her full-length feature film debut with her graduation film for dffb, the comedy "con amore Fabia". From 1993 to 1994 she studied with a scholarship at Drehbuchwerkstatt Potsdam. Since 1999, Camoglio works as a lecturer for dffb. Besides, she also works as a author and director for TV and movie productions. In 2008, Camoglio"s film "Die dünnen Mädchen", a highly praised documentary film about the topic of anorexia, opened in German cinemas.
